My name is Drew Calabro, and I am a fifth grade teacher in Washington DC. My journey to the classroom is a bit circuitous, and begins at The Ohio State University. As a public affairs major, I wanted to do something that was beyond myself and my own desires. I found TFA. I was immediately intrigued with teaching, and moved to Tallulah, Louisiana to teach 3rd grade at Tallulah Charter School. I have taught in Tallulah, New Orleans, and Washington DC. I am currently in Washington DC teaching 5th grade. My journey has taken me many places, but the different educational environments I have been a part of have truly developed me in a unique way.
